Winter Fun

Paetyn had her first real play time in the snow yesterday. She was such a marshmallow all bundled up in her snow gear. It was so cute. I stayed inside where it is warm with Drake, but I am excited to take her sledding later this year.

We also put up the trees a while ago. We are still working on the basement so our house in in shambles and we only had room for one tree and only could find room for it in the kitchen. With Paetyn wanting to get into everything we also had to put a gate around it. Maybe if the basement hurries and gets done, we can put up our family tree also. I am dying to have Christmas morning by our fireplace downstairs! We also put up both of the kids trees in their rooms.

Like I said, the basement is finally getting finished! Who knew all we had to do to motivate Brad to finish was order his kegerator and tell him he cant use it until the basement is finished. We have it all painted and some of the tile. We are headed to Ikea to get cabinets later today and then its just carpet and all the finish work. This being said, the bar will ready to party in come New Years and being without a babysitter, we are planning a new years bash for anyone who wants to come. I'm thinking an ugly sweater party combo... but we are still working out the details.

One Week Old

Drake is one week old today already! Time just flies by. He is still sleeping a ton and wakes up every couple of hours so overall, he has been a much easier baby than Paetyn was.

Drake is Here!

Drake was born 5:26 pm this Friday 11-27-09. He was a huge baby weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz and 20 1/2 in long. We love him so much!

The first meeting at home since Paetyn couldnt come to the hospital. She was excited to see what was in the carrier, and gave one hug...that was enough for her.

He is healthy and doing really well. Our fist night home last night went spectacular. He woke up regularly to have a bottle and diaper change and would go right back down. Lets hope the nights to follow are the same!

Still prego for a few days

So I went into the hospital ready to have the baby today at 6 am. I am not quite sure why because according to the two nurses as well as the doctor who checked me said I am no where near ready- as in not dialated at all. This is where the confusion sets in because the last three doctors I have seen have said I was. They said that if we really wanted to they would hook me up to the pitosin (i dont know how to spell that at all) and I could be in labor all day possibly with no results and have to come back anyway, or I could just come back in on Friday. They also said that I would be at a high risk for having to have a C Section if we pushed it today. Obviously as much as I want the baby out and it was good timing today with work and family and such, I said we would just come back Friday. I really dont see how much I would change in two days, but they said we would for sure do it on Friday morning. So now I sit at home, still prego and more uncomfortable than I was yesterday due to the DEEP exams- three in a row, that I thought I was really going to throw up from and even grabbed the little blue bag. Wonderful. Friday it will be- and probably not a quick labor. This baby hates me already.

It's Official!

Unless the baby decides to come on his own sooner, I am scheduled for an induction at the hospital on Wednesday the 25th! Yeah!

Pregnant = Emotional

Second post in like an hour, sorry. My massage lady yesterday was saying that at the hospitals up north they dont allow any children in the rooms and only in the waiting rooms so they dont get to see the new babies and the moms only get to see them for a second. I thought it would be wise to check on that at the hospitals here in Provo so I would be prepared. Apparently at the hospitals in Utah county, no children under 14 are even allowed in the hospital at all. This makes me extremely emotional in my pregnant state for a few reasons.

1-Someone will have to be at our house watching Paetyn while I deliver and stay at the hospital. This is no good because whoever is watching her at our house (ex. my mom) wont be at the hospital to see the new baby.

2- Paetyn is not the best with sitters so Brad will frequently need to leave me at the hospital to go take care of Paetyn and check in. I had planned on this for night time but not more than that.

3- Now when I go into labor, I will not only have to wait an hour for Brad to get home from work, but also for a babysitter to get to my house before I can venture on over to have the baby. I dont want to leave Paetyn in a freak out state which means I have to be calm and that wont be easy while in labor.

4- Possibly the most important- I really wanted Paetyn to have time with the baby at the hospital even before family was allowed in by my rules. This obviously wont be happening now as she wont meet him until we are home.

5- I wont get to see Paetyn for a few days, which I never do and is extremely hard for me. Now I get to come home and totally rock her world bringing a new baby along.

I have more complaints than just these and am so mad at the stupid swine flu! I am just trying to be calm as there is nothing I can do about it obviously but I am so emotional because of being pregnant it sucks!

New Car, New Kitten

When Brad and I realized that our Denali was worth double what we paid for it, we decided to trade it in and upgrade for an Escalade- a thing I have always wanted! It is glorious so far and we have really enjoyed it. I truly love Onstar and the bucket seats. We opted to go for the longer one with the other bench and bigger trunk due to our double stroller coming soon and our constantly full trunk... no clue why.

In other happenings, I don't think that I blogged about 2 months back that we got a little white kitten. Well Paetyns love for all things animal and Brad talked me into getting another kitten a few weeks ago. I will admit however that it wasn't hard to do because of how beautiful the cat is! She also makes the other one look huge! Crazy! I have loved them both, but I am so not loving how our dog Emery is shedding and its disgusting! I have to vacuum our house usually twice a day. Not so fun.

We also just got our basement sheetrocked and they should be finishing up today so we can paint this weekend. FINALLY- we are making some progress! Hopefully the majority of the basement will be done second week into December. We are planning on having an ugly sweater party sometime that month to break in the new bar area. Should be a good time.

I go to the doctor again tomorrow so we will see if I've made any progress and what the plan is from here. Wish me luck!
